The platform's primary goal is to provide stakeholders with ongoing access to data and analytics, which will aid in the conception, trial, and modification of Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) interventions.
The platform draws data from departmental reports, digital health platforms, and several information systems such as the Health Management Information System (HMIS), National Health Observatory, Education Management Information System (EMIS), Orphans and Vulnerable Children Management Information System (OVCMIS), Gender-Based Violence Management Information System (GBVMIS), and various health and demographic surveys.
The platform aggregates data to provide a foundational tool for the creation and refinement of Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) initiatives, which aims to enhance health promotion systems and prevent diseases.
The Health Promotion, Education, and Communication (DHPEC) department under the Ministry of Health is responsible for the integration of health promotion into all health programs.
The mandate of the DHPEC department is to strengthen health promotion systems for disease prevention and increase demand for quality health services.
Some of the key responsibilities of the DHPEC department include increasing health awareness, knowledge, and changing attitudes of individuals for the adoption of health-seeking behavior, improving systems for effective health communication to the public, advocating for health promotion and disease prevention at all fora, and engaging different stakeholders for Public Health Promotion and Education action.
