The Ministry of Health's Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Communication (DHPEC) is tasked with the vital role of enhancing health promotion systems to prevent diseases and foster increased demand for high-quality health services. In alignment with this mandate, DHPEC has launched the SBC Data for Learning (D4L) Platform. This innovative platform aggregates data from a wide range of sources, serving as a foundational tool for the creation and refinement of Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) initiatives.
The platform's primary goal is to provide stakeholders with ongoing access to data and analytics, which will aid in the conception, trial, and modification of SBC interventions. It seeks to provide a convenient, real-time solution for the collection and storage of SBC information, knowledge, and data. Furthermore, it aims to supply strategic evidence that can inform and influence the national SBC agenda.
It draws data from departmental reports, digital health platforms, and several information systems such as the Health Management Information System (HMIS), National Health Observatory, Education Management Information System (EMIS), Orphans and Vulnerable Children Management Information System (OVCMIS), Gender-Based Violence Management Information System (GBVMIS), and various health and demographic surveys. This multifaceted approach ensures the platform's robust capability in aiding the design and adaptation of effective SBC strategies.
